Artist Statement:

I’ve painted for as long as I can remember - from creating with my nan during school holidays to now spending hours in my studio, completely absorbed in my work.
I was lucky enough to be approached by Mick and Erifili, who have given me the opportunity to achieve one of my biggest goals: being here tonight.
Working with gouache has transformed my artistic identity; it truly feels like an extension of myself. My approach to art is to create an ideal world - something that feels like a dream and reality at the same time.
One of my largest inspiration would have to be traditional hand painted animation, most notably a company called ‘studio ghibli’ and their works in the late 1980s early 1990s.
When I paint, I imagine placing myself within these peaceful, lively scenes, as if I’m looking out my window at a perfect view that completely calms my mind.
I hope my work evokes feelings of peace, wonder, and optimism, and encourages you to find beauty in the ordinary.
Each artwork I create is an extension of myself and my soul, and I hope you can enjoy it as much as I’ve enjoyed creating it.
